What Sonar is

Sonar is an ASO platform for the iOS App Store and Google Play: keyword research with Apple-reported search popularity, a proprietary difficulty score, daily rank tracking across all countries, competitor intelligence, and review insights. It is built for indie developers and small agencies managing app portfolios — the teams that need real data without enterprise pricing.

Built AI-first

The REST API, CLI (@sonarapp/cli), and MCP server (@sonarapp/mcp) are first-class citizens, not afterthoughts — every feature in the dashboard is reachable by an AI agent or a script. A free anonymous API tier works with no key at all.

Where the data comes from

iOS popularity is Apple's own Search Popularity score — reported, not estimated. iOS rankings are validated against independent App Store ranking data, and the Android popularity model is calibrated against real Apple scores for the same keywords. Who builds it

Sonar is built and run by Peter Sutarik, an independent software developer based in Slovakia. It is a bootstrapped product: no investors, no growth team — the roadmap is driven by what paying customers ask for. Support emails land with the founder and are answered within a business day. Product updates ship continuously and are documented in the changelog.
